Why Change Can Be Hard
Change is something we constantly seek in our lives; we want the bigger, the better and we want it now. Change is also something we resist like the plague. Feelings of change bring up fear of the unknown. We are familiar with what we have now, and moving beyond that brings up insecurity that the change we seek won’t turn out the way we want it to. More often than not, we have the information and resources to create the change we desire, yet there always seems to be something in the way. When blocks crop up in our lives, this is usually resistance to change. We might argue with ourselves, saying things like, “I really do want to exercise!” but every time we go to exercise something stops us from doing it. When we come across these blocks it's usually because our subconscious mind is not on board. In other words, we have a belief that what we want to achieve is impossible because our subconscious cannot conceive of the idea. We have a pre-conceived notion that this cannot be our reality. These limiting beliefs are usually formed in our childhood and from past experiences. For example, you may have grown up listening to your mother say. “I can never lose weight”. Subconsciously, you take this idea on board, and when you grow up and decide you’d like to lose weight, you cant because you’ve been feed the idea that you cant from past experiences and through outside programming. The great news is that change IS possible! Once we remove the blocks and subconscious programming around the issue, the change we seek is much more attainable, enjoyable and easy.
