Frustration is an emotion that is tangled with many others; anger, sadness, guilt, shame, rejection, defeat...etc. The problem with frustration is that it has become a pattern for many of us. Once we've experienced frustration in one area of our lives, it tends to trickle down into other areas. For instance, you get frustrated at work because someone has messed up, you get frustrated at home because the washing machine has stopped working, you get frustrated that your partner didn't pick up dinner...the list goes on, as does the lingering feeling of frustration. Everyday addictions are the compulsive habits that rob us from feeling peace. Most addictions start out from a place of experimentation, peer pressure or the desire to find something that will take our minds off stress. Addictions are just false needs; we think we need chocolate, we think we need cigarettes, we think we need a glass a wine every night to unwind. When in reality this is a want, not a need. If you were stranded on a desert island, the main necessities for survival would not be chocolate, cigarettes or wine. They would be fresh water, shelter and food. The important thing is to change your perception on what needs really are. Yes, these substances can help us to relax and that is the blindingly obvious truth about most addictions. We use them as a way to relax because we don't know how to do so without them! Unfortunately, most of us were not taught relaxation techniques at school, or given an emotional education on dealing with stress. However, I truly believe that if we knew how to relax in a natural way, there would be less need for substances like alcohol and cigarettes. Some substances like chocolate and alcohol can certainly be enjoyable, and I don't want to put you off something you enjoy. What I want for all people is to not be controlled by their cravings. With the help of techniques like EFT Tapping and The Emotion Code, addictions and cravings are surprisingly easy to clear. Sometimes they have stress in their lives that causes this anxiety, and other times its totally unexplained. Unfortunately, anxiety is not something you typically “grow out of” or “get over”, in fact it becomes more deeply ingrained into your life that it can feel more like a personality trait rather than a condition. Often times anxiety gets ignored for this very reason because people think that its “just who I am” or “it runs in the family”, this is no excuse not to seek help for anxiety because it is something that can be healed. Anxiety is a state of fear that triggers the fight/flight/freeze response in the brain, and over time with the continued stress of daily life, this anxiety can be triggered by the most minor of inconveniences. The reason for this is because your brain has created neural pathways to anxiety, and once these are created it is hard to remove yourself from this pattern. Without dealing with the root cause of anxiety it can be difficult to clear the pattern, however with tools like EFT Tapping and The Emotion Code you can change the neural pathways in the brain and rewire them for peace and calm. From my own experience with anxiety I have found some key strategies and tools that have helped reduce anxiety. Below is my list of practices that can also help you with reducing anxiety!

If you're anything like me, you've been writing New Years Resolutions every year for as long as you can remember. I thought I'd take the time now to give you some helpful tips and advice on how to approach your resolutions for optimal success. Tip 1# Keep is Simple Too often we write an essay on what we need to change about ourselves but this only causes feelings of overwhelm! So if you're writing resolutions or goals its best to keep it simple. You're allowed to have big dreams, in fact, I encourage it! What will really help you fulfill those dreams is to focus on one or two at a time and plan how you can make that vision a reality. Tip 2# Make your goals visible New Years resolutions are an out of sight, out of mind thing if you write them in January and by March you've forgotten about them. I suggest you write them out, decorate them in any way that is visually pleasing to you and keep it somewhere in your house or in your phone that keeps you reminded of these goals. Ever since I started pinning my list to the back of my bedroom door, I was more easily motivated and guess what? I completed everything on my list by the time the end of the year rolled round. Tip 3# Understand that you're goals will change Sometimes it's hard to accept but your goals will have to change with the eeb an flow of life. Unexpected events will happen and your acceptance of that will make your life easier. Resistance is futile but your happiness is not. Learn to be non-reactive and make the best of any situation. And if life does throw a curve ball, adapt your goals to suit the situation. Who knows, in hindsight it might turn out better than expected! Tip 4# Pick one habit a month to improve on It is widely believed that is takes 21 days to change a subconscious habit, so if you've been struggling with an irritating habit such as smoking or nail biting, make January your month of change and commit to breaking the habit. The best way to tackle an issue like this, is of course Tapping. This will speed up the process and allow you to release the resistance of letting go of the habit. By breaking down resolutions into month by month goals, this can help you achieve more and make change easier. My one last piece of advice is to make self-care a priority. Take some time to get to know the real you and work on the issues that have been holding you back. Self-care can mean different things to different people, but as long as you feel nourished and loved that's all that matters. I've heard that 2018 is the year of the butterfly and I want you to extend your magnificent wings and fly! Books have a way of telling you something you need to know. Without further ado, I give you my list of books that have shaped my life and helped me grow. Loveability: Knowing How to Love and Be Loved, By Robert Holden: Every sentence in this book is worth framing. A brilliant book that will benefit every reader. I wish every parent was given this book as a manual, and for everyone looking for love, or move authentic love. I cannot recommend this book enough. Read it, read it, read it! :-) The Art Of Extreme Self Care, By Cheryl Richardson: This is the one book that I end up recommending to clients the most. There is a total misconception that Self Care is Selfish and egotistical. Not true. When we take care of our own needs we are much more likely to help others in a way that is authentic and loving. Be Happy! Release The Power Of Happiness in YOU! By Robert Holden: This book totally transformed my views on Happiness. It is unlike any other book you will read on the subject, and in my opinion, the only one you will ever have to read on it. Visualisation For Weight Loss, by Jon Gabriel: Besides being a fantastic resource on weight loss and fitness, this book also teaches the incredible benefits of visualisation and its multiple applications. This book clearly explains the science and psychology behind weight and why diets don't work. Visualisation For Weight Loss is the type of book to give you never forget because the message behind it is so profound. The Tapping Solution For Weight Loss and Body Confidence, By Jessica Ortner: Best. Book. Ever. My health dramatically changed from reading this book and applying the tapping in my every day life. It is my dream to one day work with Jessica Ortner and her brother Nick Ortner, founders of The Tapping Solution. If you struggle with weight or self-esteem, this is the perfect book for you. Offering a holistic approach to weight loss and confidence, Jessica comes from an understanding and compassionate place, offering the best weight loss advice I have ever read. The Promise Of A Pencil, By Adam Braun: This is an inspiring read of a young man wanting to create real change in the world. Adam Braun created his own charity with 93% of its profits going directly to the cause. Adam and his team have now built thousands of schools and houses in third world countries. I have given this book as a gift because it is so worth the time. Angel Numbers 101, By Doreen Virtue: I am a massive fan of Doreen Virtue. Her books have transformed me. This book is particularly interesting if you see reoccurring number sequences. For a long time I have seen the numbers 111, 222 and 444 everywhere! This little book is a fantastic reference to find the meanings from these number messages. You Can Create An Exceptional Life, By Louise L Hay and Cheryl Richardson: I loved every word of this book, with easy to apply and practical applications to creating a more positive and fulfilling life.
